Rice Queen, oriental diner & bar at Brunswick Street in Fitzroy

On Thursday night we decided to explore the coolest part of the city meaning the Fitzroy area in Brunswick. We just wanted to try out some place we haven't been to and started walking along the Brunswick Street to step into something that would catch our eyes. After a couple of minutes we found it - Rice Queen. The name sounded appealing and a little peak inside made it clear it was worth to visit. I really adored all the little details in that bar and diner, it was very cozy with dim lights and kitsch design elements from Asia. They are specialized on Asian kitchen and offer share plates which are common to Asia.
We had Braised Singapore style squid and prawns with chilly, crispy egg noodles and shiso leaf and Pad thai noodles, with chicken, egg, peanuts, bean shoots and spring onion. They both tasted good. For a drink we had Tall Tales Pinot Noir 2010 from Yarra Valley, Victoria which was  really nice and Kelly Brothers Apple Cider. I definitely would love to go back there for the atmosphere and coziness.
